A New Year–

Have you ever wondered why a new year brings so much change in so many people?  I believe it is a mark on the calendar that gets people thinking about what a new year can bring.  This is a powerful thing.  It’s putting behind you the things that didn’t go as planned in the last year and really thinking about how you can make change for the year to come.  I am reading a book I read a while back called, Thinking For A Change by: John C. Maxwell.  This book delivers some great points to get your attitude in the right place for the changes you want to make.   If you understand the value of great thinking your life could dramatically change for the better.

I have found this time of year that people tend to procrastinate when they work from home due to all the holiday activities they have planned for themselves.  I have never understood this.  This is the one month where  money is spent to give to others and should be the month where everyone is working a little harder to make up for that money that is coming out of pocket.

Do NOT let this month get in your way of achieving

your goals.  Make an extra effort this month to do what it takes to finish strong.

 Just think….you will have a great Christmas and be able to relax and spend time with your loved ones knowing that you were able to get everything accomplished you had first set out for yourself at the first of the month.

Remember, Christmas will always be coming!

Your Future Starts Today

The definition of insanity is, doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.  If you want your future to look different than your life looks today, you are going to have change something.

This is something I have thought about over and over again.  I have been building a successful home business for 11 years and have seen this mistake of building through insanity from myself and so many others that I have mentored.  I thought I would spend some time today going over how you can get yourself out of this constant circle of not moving yourself forward.

Moving Yourself Forward For a Better Future

Making the change for me, started with writing down what I wanted my future to look like.

 I had to make that decision. I knew I wanted to be available to my children so my first goal was to find a home business that I could believe in.  Once I found this home business I had to figure out how to incorporate it into my daily agenda.  If you want to change your pattern for a brighter future you are going to have to look at what you are willing to sacrifice.  The first thing I did was turn off the TV!  There are many other small sacrifices that I had to make but the few hours I was spending watching TV every day gave me the time to invest into my business.  That small sacrifice partnered with hard work has changed my life and given me the future that I dreamed of.  That is just one sacrifice, what can you sacrifice

Don’t just think about your future and hope that it will happen.  Write it down and sent out a plan of action.  Do the leg work and you will find that your life will be so rewarded and your future will be everything you have dreamed of.

Vision: Build Your Dream

Do you have a vision of where your life will be in 5 years?  How about 10-20 years?  I will tell you that 11 years ago I had a vision of a better life.  A life that would allow me to stay home with my children and be financially sound.  In that vision I saw hard work, but I also saw rewards.  If you have a dream you need to paint that picture for yourself and build it.  For me, working from home was the answer.

My Vision

My vision was to be at home, working, contributing to my family, and being available when they needed me.  I found a home business that would allow me to live out my my vision.  I created a dream board for my family and we mapped out short term and long term goals.  Once I had my plan in place I went to work.  My family has always been a part of my business and it has been simple to incorporate a business in to my daily agenda.

Your Vision

If you have a vision you need to write it down and put a plan in place.

 So many people let their vision pass them by because it seems to hard to make it all work. It isn’t hard if you know where you want to go. Read an article from a business partner of mine that shares how to “Close The Gap” in the life you want and the life you currently have.

Decision Making

I get the opportunity to speak with people who are looking to be home with their family but still contribute to their family financially.  What I see out there is that so many people are scared to make any decision with their life.  Why do you think that is?  I have thought about our economy and how it has changed, I know that is definitely a contributing factor to the fear in our world when it comes to getting out of “Corporate America” and getting home.  But I also see how hard it is for working parents to be available to their children.  With the schools needing the parents support as bad as they do today, the children having so many activities, and all the school work on top of everything else….I honestly don’t see how anyone can afford to NOT be home.  The decision may be a scary one, but think about your life if you don’t make the change.

Work From Home – The Decision You Want to Make

When I was looking for something to do from home I was in a pretty desperate situation.  I had way too much month left at the end of my money, if you know what I mean.  I needed to be home!   I had a 9 month old when

I decided that investing time into something I really believed in would be benefit my family for the future.  I took “today” out of the picture and only thought about “tomorrow”.  Have you asked yourself what your future is going to look like?  That question almost haunted me.  I knew if our future was going to be bright, I needed to make a change.  I needed to make the decision to work from home.

Many people don’t make the decision to work from home because there isn’t  much out there that anyone can believe in.  Sure, you can sell make-up, jewelry, vitamins, coffee, even juice, but how are you going to earn a life long residual income from that?  The bigger question is, how are you going to help other people do that

Partnership

The key to any business is developing a partnership with those you are working with. It is very easy to want to get ahead in life.  The question is, who are you surrounding yourself with to help you reach your goal?  I have a home business and have really loved the fact that my success is determined by the number of people I get to help every day.

 I look for people who aspire to reach high levels within them selves.  People who have that same commonality of helping others reach their goals.  This will bring you great partnership.

Partnership in Business

In my business finding these great partners is something I work hard at every day.  Since I build a business and use the Internet to meet other people out there, I look for people that are also looking to better their life.  In what ever business you are currently a part of, you need to make sure that you have these strong partners.  It’s called, co-operate!  You will find great people that will lead you, follow you, or walk with you.  In my experience, I like to find those that will lead me and walk with me.  These are the kind of personalities I want to surround myself with in business.

Key to Partnership in Business

The key to doing this is being the best person you can be and looking for those that have you like interest.  Look for someone better than you.  Look for someone that is willing to be a part of the TEAM.  Someone with an unwavering commitment and belief you have.  This is the key to use in partnership.  My good friend and colleague wrote a great article that relates to finding a legitimate home based business.  This is where you want to start, and then you will find great partners to work with you in your business.

Determination

We all have goals in life.

 The question is, how determined are you to reach those goals?  The definition of determination is: the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose.  Have you made the decision to reach your goals?  I truly believe that we can move mountains with positive thinking and determination.  I see it every day.  Look at weight loss for example… anyone can loose the weight if the are determined and want to.  They have to be ready for a lifestyle change.  I have been so moved by the courage of the people on The Biggest Loser.  Men and women who have lost over 100 pounds in 19 weeks!  How did they do it?  They set a goal, they changed their eating, they put exercise in their life, and allowed themselves to be pushed to the limit.  Anyone can do anything they set their mind to if they want to.

Imagine if you pushed yourself to the limit.  How would your life be today?  If you set goals for yourself and were determined to reach those goals you would be on the path that you want to be.

Allow yourself to reach your goals.  Don’t stand in your own way.  Most of the people who I see NOT reaching a goal is standing in their own way.  They are not allowing themselves to be everything they can be.  Make a decision to get on the right path.  The sky is the limit, right

Goals

Have you set your goals for this month?  I find that when people get lost in the every day things of the world, it is because they are not thinking enough about what they really need to get done.

 Goal setting can be a powerful process to help you see your future and keep you on track with your accomplishments. The process of setting goals helps you choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts. You’ll also quickly spot the distractions that can, so easily, lead you astray.

Goals = Accomplishment

I am still old school and use a hand written day timer along with my iCal that I keep on my computer.  These both act as a check list for me.  They keep me on track every hour and help me to feel accomplished when I go to bed.

Before you go to bed tonight, pull our your list of To Do’s and see what you need to accomplish tomorrow.

 You will have a better week for staying on course.  Setting Goals will take you where you need to be.
